RENO, Nev.  – University of Nevada (8-5, 1-0 MW) junior Julien Evrard needed three sets at No. 1 singles to give the Wolf Pack a 4-3 victory over Air Force (9-8, 0-2 MW) on Saturday at the McArthur Tennis Center in the Mountain West opener for the Pack.  Nevada improved to 8-5 on the season and 1-0 in MW play while the Falcons fell to 9-8 and 0-2 in conference play.
 
The Pack hosts New Mexico (6-6, 1-0 MW) at noon on Sunday.  The Lobos defeated Fresno State 4-1 in its MW opener on Friday.
 
With the Air Force match tied a 3-3 the Pack would need a victory from Evrard to win the match.  He dominated the first set winning 6-2 but dropped the second set 6-4.  In the final set he came up big winning 6-4 to clinch the 4-3 victory for Wolf Pack.
 
The Falcons jumped in front winning the doubles points with 6-4 victories on Courts 1 and 2.
 
Nevada's Matvey Radionov evened the score with a straight sets 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 6 singles.  Kostya Nesterenko put the Pack in front 2-1 with his 6-3, 6-4 win on Court 2.
 
The Pack's lead did not last long as Air Force tied the score at 2-2 when Mack Galvin defeated Gvidas Motuzas 7-5, 6-2 at No. 5 singles.  The Falcons led 3-2 after Paul Hendrix won 7-5, 7-6 (7-3) on Court 3.
 
Daniel Dudockin evened the match with his gutsy 7-6 (10-8), 6-4 victory on Court 4 which setup the heroics from Evrard to clinch the win.
