LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Prior to the start of the 2019 Air Force Reserve Mountain West Championship, the conference announced its All-Mountain West award winners with Nevada women's basketball seniors
Jade Redmon and
Terae Briggs earning honors.
Redmon is one of 10 from around the league to be selected to the All-Mountain West team, while Briggs joins four others who earned an honorable mention. This is the first all-conference award for both Redmon and Briggs in their careers.
In 18 conference games this season Redmon scored in double figures in all but one, including three 20-point performances. She posted a season-high 21 points in the home win over San Diego State where she was near perfect from the free throw line. Redmon averaged 15.4 points per game in league action which ranked fourth in the Mountain West. She was also top 10 in field goal percentage (47.2 percent) and in the top three in free throw percentage (85.5 percent). Additionally, she cranked out 46 assists which ranked second on the team.
For Briggs' conference season she averaged 13.0 points per game, which was 11
th-best in the league, and 7.8 rebounds per game, good for sixth in the MW. She also ranked in the top 10 in field goal percentage (53.2 percent) and offensive (2.4) and defensive (5.4) rebounds per game. Briggs had three 20-point games, which included a career-high 30 point night to open the conference season at Utah State. She collected four double-doubles in the 18-game span and came one rebound or one point shy of posting three more. Briggs also led the Wolf Pack with 13 blocks and 26 steals in league action. Heading into the conference tournament, Briggs needs 33 points to become Nevada's 14
th 1,000-point scorer.
