COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Coming off the regular season finale dual meet win over the New Mexico Lobos, mid-year freshman addition Laura Isabel Vasquez Lopez claims the Mountain West Diver of the Week award. 

Freshman diver Lopez captured this week's honors after notching an individual win in the 3-meter and a second place finish in the 1-meter dive. The Guadalajara, Mexico native took first at the New Mexico dual with scores of 323.03 in the 3-meter and 283.43 in the 1-meter. Her scores also met the NCAA Zone Qualifying standard and are top 20 marks in conference. 

This is the first honor for Lopez on the year and first in her career. 
Nevada moved to 8-1 in dual meets on the year with the win with the Mountain West Championships next on the schedule. The Championships are being held in Minneapolis, Minn. on Feb. 20-23.
