Nevada runs past Santa Clara 98-67

Harris posts first double-double at Nevada

RENO, Nev. (AP) Jazz Johnson scored 20 points, making four 3-pointers, and Nevada demolished Santa Clara's five-game win streak 98-67 Wednesday night.

Zane Meeks also hit four from distance, finishing with a career-high 16 points, and Jalen Harris came close to a triple-double with 16 points, 11 boards and eight assists. Nisre Zouzoua added 12 points and Robby Robinson 10 for the Wolf Pack (6-3).

Nevada led from start to finish, shot 53% for the game (34-for-64) and was 14-for-28 from behind the 3-point arc. The Wolf Pack dominated the boards, outrebounding Santa Clara 52-37, and had 26 assists on 34 baskets.

The Broncos (8-2) made just 4 of 29 3-pointers and shot 35% from the field overall. No one reached double figures, but Jalen Williams and DJ Mitchell each scored eight.

Game Notes:

Nevada (6-3) defeated Santa Clara (8-2) 98-67 on Wednesday night at Lawlor Events Center in front of 7,577 fans.

Nevada opens Mountain West play on Saturday at Air Force (4-5, 1-0 MW).  The game will air on AT&T SportsNet at 11 a.m. PT.

Nevada head coach Steve Alford is seven wins from 600 in his college coaching career.  His record is 593-301 in 29 seasons.

The Wolf Pack won its fourth consecutive game and snapped Santa Clara's five-game win streak tonight.

For the second time this season five Pack players scored in double figures led by Jazz Johnson's game-high 20 points.  It was Johnson's fourth game of 20 or more points this season.

Johnson has scored in double figures in all nine games this season and made three or more 3-pointers in eight games this season.

Junior Jalen Harris posted his first double-double at Nevada finishing with 16 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.  Harris also dished out a season-high eight assists in the game.

Freshman Zane Meeks scored a Nevada high 14 points. It was his second double figure scoring game of the season.
Nizré Zouzoua scored in double figures for the fifth time this season and fourth time in the last five contests with his 12 points versus the Broncos.
Sophomore Robby Robinson reached double figures for the first time in his career netting 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the game.

All 11 players on the roster saw action in the game.

Nevada's 15 rebound advantage, 52-37 was the largest of the season as was the 31-point victory.  

Nevada has won its last four games by double figures.

The Pack had a season-high 26 assists in the game.

For the third time in the last four games Nevada did not trail.  In the last four games the Pack has trailed for just 41 seconds that being 3-2 in the Bowling Green game.
