RENO, Nev. – On a brisk evening in Mackay Stadium, Nevada (2-10, 1-4 MW) fell to Colorado College (8-3, 3-2) by a score of 3-0. Goalkeeper
Kendal Stovall totaled nine saves to bring her total to 69 for the season.
Nevada mustered eight shots on the night with half of them going on goal. Freshman
Gabby Brown and junior
Mady Hairston led the way with two apiece, while
Payton Lieb and
Casey Crawford each put a shot on goal.
The teams were held scoreless through the first 18 minutes of action until Jacqui Hand scored twice in two-and-a-half minutes to put the Tigers up two scores. At the 35-minute mark, Jordan Darrow scored her first of the season and Colorado College held onto its 3-0 lead for the rest of the match.
Nevada totaled more corner kicks than Colorado College, with all of them coming in the second half of play. The Pack put together four while the Tigers' only had one all game, going to show that
Nevada was finding opportunities in the second half of the match.
The Pack will be back in Mackay on Sunday when it hosts MW foe Air Force for a noon kickoff. Nevada will celebrate its efforts in its fight against cancer after raising over $3,000 for the Vs. Cancer Foundation.
