RENO, Nev. – The Nevada women's tennis team opens its spring 2019 season on Friday, with a match at UC San Diego. The Wolf Pack will stay in San Diego to take on Point Loma University on Saturday. Play begins at 2 p.m. on Friday and at 12 p.m. on Saturday.
The Wolf Pack comes into the spring after its fall tournament schedule wrapped up in November. Highlighting the fall was sophomore
Anastaysha Gorbacheva sweeping her three singles matches at Santa Clara's Bronco Invitational and earning the Wolf Pack Student Athlete of the Week for the first time in her career.
Melissa Huchet led the Pack with five victories in the fall while Mart Ruedas and
Selina Turulja each posted four.
Nevada will look to build off last year's 9-9 campaign, in which the team ended the regular season with three straight victories before falling to New Mexico in the first round of the Mountain West Championship.
Last year, UC San Diego went 13-11 while Point Loma was 18-7, including 13-2 at home in the NCAA Division II's PacWest Conference.
