COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Nevada diving squad wrapped up its final day at the NCAA Championships on Saturday with senior Sharae Zheng and junior Sio I Lei competing in the preliminary rounds of the platform dive. While Lei placed 39^th with a score of 217.00, Zheng finished right behind her in 40^th, scoring 215.80.

"We are very proud of our divers representing us at the NCAA Championships and in particular Sharae having another outstanding performance," Nevada head coach Brendon Bray said. "She is a true champion not only with her talent but how she conducts herself as well. Next season we aspire to have a bigger representation of both swimmers and divers at this meet and continue to move up in the top 25."

Despite not qualifying to compete in the finals, both Zheng and Lei finished the year having remarkable seasons. Zheng added to her historic career with two more medals at these Championships, after winning bronze in the 1-meter springboard and silver in the 3-meter springboard.
 
She also cemented herself as one of the best divers to ever come through the Mountain West, earning a total of eight career medals at the conference meet, which is a MW record. Zheng swept all three diving events at this year's Mountain West Championship, marking the second season in a row she has accomplished the feat.

Lei also concluded an impressive season, earning All-Conference honors in all three diving events after placing third in the 1-meter springboard, sixth in the 3-meter springboard and seventh on the platform. On Thursday, Lei participated in the 1-meter springboard at the NCAA Championships, finishing 38^th in the prelims with a score of 257.45 in the prelims.

Zheng helped lead the Wolf Pack to 33 points and a 24th place finish at the NCAA Championships, while Wyoming placed 37th. They were the only two teams from the Mountain West to be ranked.
