Zheng captures another NCAA medal

COLUMBUS, Ohio – For the second time in as many days, Nevada senior Sharae Zheng earned another medal at the NCAA Championships, after finishing second in the 3-meter springboard on Friday. She now has four NCAA medals in her career as she placed third in the 1-meter springboard on Thursday.

Zheng began the day with a third place finish in the preliminary rounds with her score of 363.60 and improved her standing in the finals by one spot. Her score of 394.95 narrowly moved her into second, finishing less than five points behind Brooke Schultz of Arkansas, who won the gold.

Zheng's performance on Friday gives the Wolf Pack 33 total points. Nevada will conclude the final day of the 2018 NCAA Championships on Saturday as Zheng will compete in the platform dive.
