SURPRISE, Ariz. – After going 0-2 in yesterday's matches, the Nevada men's tennis team saw juniors
Julien Evrard and
Kostya Nesterenko go 2-0 today at the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships at the Surprise Tennis and Racquet Complex in Surprize, Ariz.
Evrard won 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 over Seward County College's Nicolas Rousset in the singles consolation bracket. With the victory, Evrard advances to the round of 16 tomorrow. In the doubles consolation bracket, Evrard and Nesterenko topped Belmont's Hendrik Inno and Marko Illic 6-1, 7-5 in the round of 16. The duo will compete in the quarterfinals tomorrow.
This is the first time Nevada has had any representatives competing in the national tournament, with Evrard qualifying for singles thanks to a second place finish in October's ITA Mountain Regional.
