Men's tennis falls in day one of Oracle ITA National Fall Championships

Evrard and Nesterenko drop doubles match

Box Score SURPRISE, Ariz.  – The Nevada Wolf Pack men's tennis team dropped its two matches today in Surprise, Ariz. at the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships at the Surprise Tennis and Racquet Complex.
 
In singles play, junior Julien Evrard fell 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 in the round of 64 to Luca Keist  from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte. The doubles duo of Evrard and junior Kostya Nesterenko was defeated 6-7(5), 6-3, 10-5 by Bjorn Thomson and Parker Wynn of Texas Tech in the round of 32.
 
The tandem will compete in the singles and doubles consolation brackets beginning tomorrow morning.
 
This was the Pack's first appearance in the national tournament. Evrard and Nesterenko earned an appearance in the tournament as a wild card after a second place finish in the ITA Mountain Regional Tournament in October. Evrard advanced to the national tournament in singles with a second place singles finish in the same regional tournament.
