FRESNO, Calif. – The Nevada men's tennis team opened day one of the Bulldog Classic hosted by Fresno State on Friday, with the team going 4-2 in singles and 1-2 in doubles to move to 5-4 on the day. The Wolf Pack would also go 1-1 against Mountain West opponents.
In singles play, Daniel Dudockin earned a victory in his first flight A match against San Francisco's Paul Giraud 6-4, 7-5. Jeremy Merville dropped his first set in the same bracket, falling 6-2, 6-3 to San Diego State's Araud Restifo.
In the singles flight B, both Delmas N'tcha and Matvey Radionov earned victories. N'tcha defeated UC Davis' Arjith Jayaraman 2-6, 6-4, 7-6(2), while Radionov defeated Alex Scemanenco, also from UC Davis, by default.
In singles flight C, Benjamin Campi topped San Diego State's Nick Mitchell 3-6, 6-4, 6-2. Dylan Levitt fell 6-4, 6-2 to Akbar Mamirov of Saint Mary's College.
On the doubles side, the Pack went 1-2. In flight A, the pairing of Radionov and Dudockin fell 8-3 to a duo from the University of the Pacific. In flight B, the Merville and N'tcha duo fell 8-2 to a pair from Saint Mary's College.
In flight C, the Wolf Pack duo of Campi and Levitt defeated Sonoma State's Max Nudell and Igor Pissarenko.
The Pack will continue the three-day tournament today through Sunday.
