LOS ANGELES – The Nevada men's tennis team wrapped up its fall tournament schedule today, completing the third and final day of the Loyola Marymount University Invitational in Los Angeles.
Jeremy Merville completed the undefeated weekend, going 3-0 in singles.
The Wolf Pack was matched up with the two-time defending Mountain West champion Utah State Aggies in singles. Merville defeated Isaac Arturo Arevalo 2-6, 6-4, 7-5 to move to 3-0 in the three-day tournament. Merville will end the fall winning five of his last six matches between the Bulldog Classic and the LMU Invitational.
Julien Evrard was victorious as well, topping Felipe Acosta 6-3, 6-3.
Matvey Radionov was defeated 1-6, 7-6(7-4), 7-5 by Durp Opacic.
Daniel Dudockin fell to Sergiu Bucu 6-1, 5-7, 6-4, Delmas N'tcha dropped his matchup with Rithvik Bollipalli 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 and
Jonathan Aremon was defeated 6-7(4-7), 6-0, 6-2 by Daniel Bushamuka.
In the doubles matchup with Utah, all three of the Pack's pairs lost in tiebreakers. Evrard and Merville fell 8-7(7-4) to Russell Benkaim and Randy Cory. Dudockin and
Kostya Nesterenko dropped their match with Azat Hankuliyev and Dan Little 8-7(7-3) and
Benjamin Campi and Radionov fell 8-7(7-5) to Slava Shainyan and Mathias Gavelin.
This concludes the Pack's fall season, with the spring season kicking off back in Los Angeles for a Jan. 16 matchup with the UCLA Bruins of the Pac-12.
