LARAMIE, Wyo. – In the first match of its final road trip of the season, Nevada (4-11-2, 1-8 MW) was shutout by Wyoming (10-3-4, 5-2-2 MW) on Friday afternoon by a score of 4-0. The Wolf Pack tied with the Cowgirls in shots, producing 11 in the contest.
Freshman goalkeeper
Kendal Stovall recorded her 84th save of the season, putting her tied for ninth with Megan Tarpenning (2004) in the Nevada record book for saves in a season. She needs four to pass Marie Cove (2009) for sole possession of eighth.
This Sunday, Nevada will play its final road contest of the season at Colorado State. The match will kickoff at 11 a.m. PT and will be live streamed on the Mountain West Network.
Wyoming set the tone for the match early, scoring two quick goals within the first four minutes of play. The Cowgirls ended the first half with four goals, the most Nevada has given up in the first 45 minutes of a contest all season.
Freshman
Kylie Minamishin led Nevada with four shots on the afternoon, including one on goal. With under three minutes to play, she took a penalty kick to try and put Nevada on the board, but her shot went just over the crossbar.
The Pack's only other shot on goal came in the second half from freshman Kendal Riley, whose shot was barely caught over the head of the Cowgirl keeper to preserve her shutout.
Nevada will face Colorado State on Sunday to wrap up its road trip. The Pack's regular-season finale will be in Mackay Stadium on Friday, Oct. 26 where the Pack will celebrate
Senior Day against intrastate rival UNLV. Tickets for the contest are available at
