LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Nevada women's tennis team completed its two-day run at the ITA Mountain Region Championships in Las Vegas today. Junior
Kristina Lagoda made it to the round of 32, out of the 128-person singles field.
Lagoda topped Utah's Jasmin Rich 6-0, 6-2 in Wednesday's opening round. Lagoda then topped Boise State's Hanna Kantenwein 6-3, 6-2 in the round of 64 today. Lagoda's run came to an end this afternoon in a round of 32 matchup with UNLV's Anna Bogoslavets, falling 6-3, 6-2.
Adriana Gergelyova and
Melissa Huchet both advanced out of the opening round of 128 yesterday as well, before stumbling today in the round of 64.
Two Nevada duos earned victories in the doubles bracket, with Gergelyova and freshman
Selina Turulja topping Northern Arizona's Emilie Haakansson and Adrianna Sosnowska 8-6, before falling to Utah's pair of Brianna Chisholm and Madison Tattini, 8-5. The pairing of Lagoda and senior
Marta Ruedas topped the duo of Zoe Tanti and Ghita Nassik from Southern Utah, 8-4. The Wolf Pack duo would end up falling to Denver's Bianca Mok and Hada Chan, 8-2.
The Wolf Pack will be back in action on Nov. 2 in Santa Clara, Calif. for the Santa Clara Invitational, which will run through Nov. 4.
