SPOKANE, Wash.  – Sophomore
Camille Davey had a career day Friday evening in the Nevada Wolf Pack's (2-3) loss to the Portland State Vikings (3-1).

The Vikings defeated the Pack in four sets (25-17, 25-23, 23-25, 25-20). Davey dug a total of 20 balls from the libero position, topping her previous high of 18 which came against Utah Valley just last week. Senior
Madison Foley fell just one kill short of her first double-double of the season, tallying nine along with 13 digs. The Pack was once again well spread out on the offensive side of the ball as junior
Peighton De Von recorded 16 kills and sophomore
Shayla Hoeft logged 14.

While the Pack just couldn't get anything going in the first set, it came out blazing hot in the second. Nevada took a 6-1 lead before Portland State scored three straight to end the Nevada run.  Things got tight between the two teams with seven ties and three lead changes before the Vikings scored three straight points to go up 19-16. The small run forced a Nevada timeout. Although Nevada would come back to tie it up at 22-22, PSU surged back to take the second from 25-23 and go up 2-0 in the match.

Portland State was the first to be forced to call a timeout after Nevada put together a 10-7 lead to start set three. The Pack continued to build its lead, going on a 7-2 run to extend its lead to 17-10. Head coach
Lee Nelson called a timeout after PSU went on a small 4-2 run, narrowing the Pack lead to 19-14. The run kept going for the Vikings out of the timeout at PSU scored five more straight points to tie it up at 19 a piece. The two teams exchanged ties and leads across the final six points, but it was Nevada that came out on top, taking the third frame 25-23 off a kill from De Von.

The Wolf Pack was able to build a small lead to start set four, but thing were quickly tied up at 11 as the Vikings kept pace. As things went back and forth, Portland State was the first to hit a streak of points, going up 17-14 and then 20-17. The Pack couldn't get the lead back, falling to PSU 25-20 in the fourth set and 3-1 in the match.
