RENO, Nev. – University of Nevada head men's basketball coach Eric Musselman has completed his staff for the 2017-18 season with the additions of Anthony Resnick as a multimedia specialist for the team as well graduate assistants Patrick Ackerman, Christian Murphy and Robert Edwards. Ron Cooper has been hired as the team athletic trainer. Derek Saich will also be joining the staff as the video coordinator and will assist with academic monitoring.
 
Resnick comes to Nevada from Winona State University in Minnesota where he was the athletic communications graduate assistant for two years. He also played a large role in the department's social media efforts as well as the department's video projects and live streaming of home events. Resnick is a 2015 graduate of Winona State with a bachelor's degree in mass communications electronic media with minors in computer technology and coaching.
 
Ackerman spent one year as an assistant men's basketball coach at Bridgewater College in Bridgewater, Va. At Bridgewater he recruited athletes and scouted opponents, in addition, he worked with players individually as well as monitored academics. In 2016 he graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy with a bachelor's degree in communications and a minor in leadership. At Nevada he will pursue his master's degree in educational leadership. Collegiately he played basketball at Penn State and Detroit Mercy.
 
Murphy spent the past year as an assistant men's basketball coach at Central College in Pella, Iowa. During his time at Central College, hey was the head junior varsity coach. He also specialized in recruiting, alumni relations and player development. Murphy graduated from Butler University in 2016, where he was four-year student manager for the Bulldogs, two years as a head manager. He received his bachelor's degree in organizational leadership with a concentration in journalism. Murphy will working on a master's degree in educational leadership at Nevada.
 
Edwards will be joining the staff after spending time as a graduate assistant at the University of Nebraska. Edwards received his undergraduate degree from Nebraska in communications with a minor in coaching, in December of 2016. As a graduate assistant he assisted with game preparations, workouts, administrative tasks as well as served as the head team manager. At Nevada, Edwards will be doing many similar tasks as he pursues his master's degree in justice management.
 
Saich comes from the University of California, Santa Barbara where he was most recently the director of academics and video coordinator for the men's basketball team. Prior to graduating he served as a team manager for four seasons. Saich holds a bachelor's degree from UCSB in biopsychology. 
 
Cooper comes to the Wolf Pack after spending time with the Chicago Bears as an athletic training intern and was also an intern at Michigan State. Prior to his stops in Michigan and Illinois, Copper spent two years in Maryland at Morgan State University as an athletic trainer with the football team. He earned a bachelor of science degree in health care studies from Daemen College in New York in 2012 and a master of science in athletic training in 2014. 
 
Returning staff members will be Anthony Ruta, Brandon Chambers, Hays Myers, Cade Knutson and Marcus Whitt. Associate Head Coach Johnny Jones and assistant Coach Gus Argenal will round out the staff.  Myers will be in a new position as the director of player development.
