RENO, Nev. - The Nevada women's soccer team will play eight games at home this season, as announced by first-year head coach Erin Otagaki.
"We have a great schedule this fall," said Otagaki, "We are playing some very good teams and I am excited about getting out on the field and competing."
Otagaki will look to improve off of last year's five win season in her first year at the helm. Nevada will face 17 opponents in the fall, with its regular season concluding on Oct. 27 at intrastate rival UNLV.
The Pack will open its season at home on Aug. 18 and 20 against nonconference opponents Fordham and Sacramento State. Nevada will play two games in Flagstaff, Ariz. when it battles Grand Canyon and Northern Arizona. The Pack will play its final nonconference home match against Southern Utah on Sept. 8, and its nonconference season will end on Sept. 17 when the Pack travels to face Idaho.
Mountain West play will begin for Nevada on Sept. 22 at San Diego State, where the Wolf Pack will seek revenge against the Aztecs, who won in overtime in Reno last season. The Pack's first home conference matchup will take place against Air Force on Sept. 29, and it will begin its longest home stand of the year playing Colorado College, Wyoming and Colorado State in Reno. Following this homestretch, the Pack will go on a three-game road trip against Mountain West foes San José State, Fresno State and Boise State from Oct. 13-20.
Nevada will play its final home game of the season on Sunday, Oct. 22 against Utah State. Following that matchup, the Pack will travel down to face intrastate rival and defending Mountain West champion UNLV with Governor's Series points on the line.
The Mountain West Tournament will begin on Tuesday, Oct. 31 and take place in Las Vegas, Nev.
