SAN DIEGO - The University of Nevada men's tennis team (7-9, 2-2 MW) defeated San Diego State (5-14, 1-3 MW) 4-3 in a Mountain West conference match on Sunday at the Aztec Tennis Center. The Wolf Pack improved to 7-9 overall and 2-2 in conference play. The Aztecs fell to 5-14 overall and 1-3 in MW action.
With the match tied at 3-3 the Pack got a hard fought three set victory from Augustin Delahodde 6-3, 4-6 and 6-1 to clinch the victory for the Wolf Pack. Nevada other two points in singles play came in straight sets from Robert Margitfalvi 6-3, 6-2 on court three and Peter O'Donovan 6-3, 6-2 on court six.
Nevada won the doubles competition to gain the first point of the match. The Wolf Pack changed up the usual doubles partners in today's match, Margitfalvi partnered with Delahodde on court three to defeat SDSU's Raul de la Torree and David Hough 6-2. Mile Cilic partnered with Kostya Nesterenko to win on court two 7-5.
The Wolf Pack will host Boise State and Utah State next to try and improve their record in Mountain West Conference play. These will be the last two home matches for Nevada as well as Senior Day on the Saturday April 15th match against Utah State where Wolf Pack Senior, Mile Cilic will be honored.
