RENO, Nev. - The University of Nevada men's tennis team (8-9, 3-2 MW) defeated Boise State (5-21, 1-4 MW) 4-2 on Friday at the McArthur Tennis Center. The Wolf Pack improved to 8-9 overall and 3-2 in conference play. The Broncos fell to 5-21 overall and 1-4 in MW action.
Nevada clinched the victory over Boise State when Peter O'Donovan defeated Ryland McDermott in straight sets 7-5, 7-5 on court six. Kostya Nesterenko defeated BSU's Jack Heslin 6-3, 6-2. Senior Mile Cilic, was victorious on court four defeating Pedro Platzeck 7-6 (7-5), 6-0, and Augustin Delahodde took down Greg Wischer in straight sets 6-3, 6-3.
Boise won the doubles competition winning two of the three matches. The deciding match was on court number one where Boise's Kyle Butters and Jack Heslin defeated Evrard and O'Donovan 7-5.
The Wolf Pack hosts Utah State tomorrow at noon for senior day. Utah State is currently in first in the Mountain West standings with a 4-1 mark while the Pack are tied for third at 3-2.
