Final results
DAVIS, Calif. - In its final regular season event before conference championships, the Nevada men's golf team placed sixth at the El Macero Classic, which it co-hosted with UC Davis.
The Wolf Pack posted its best round of the tournament on Friday with a team score of 295, its first under 300 of the week, and one of the best final rounds in the field. Nevada finished sixth in the 14-team field, 10 shots behind tournament-winner Seattle. Nevada finished at 40-over par.
Junior Grant Booth completed his strong regular season with a third place finish, his third top five of the season. Booth finished three shots behind the individual champion, Ben Corfee of UC Davis. The Australian native carded his best round of the tournament on Friday with a 1-under 71 and finished the tournament at 2-over par. Booth birdied four of his final six holes en route to his 71. Corfee was the only player in the 77-player field to finish under par.
Senior Nick Fuller jumped eight spots on the leaderboard on Friday to finish in a tie for 28th. Fuller posted his best round of the event in the final round with a 74 to finish at 13-over par. Junior Corey Eddings and sophomore Travis Fredborg both tied for 33rd place, finishing at 14-over par. Eddings recorded his best round of the event as well on Friday with a 74. Junior Kaleb Gorbahn shot a 78 on the final day and tied for 43rd place. Freshman Stephen Osborne placed in a tie for 50th.
Nevada will compete for its first Mountain West Championship on April 21-23 from Tucson National Golf Course.
