Day one results

DAVIS, Calif. - Following two rounds of action at the El Macero Classic, the Nevada men's golf team sits in the middle of the field in seventh place.

On a tough day on the course for all participating teams, the Wolf Pack carded rounds of 304 and 305 on Thursday to sit in seventh place in the 14-team field with 18 holes to go. Nevada's combined two-round team score of 609 is 33-over par, 10 shots behind tournament-leader Oregon State. With the Beavers leading at 23-over par, none of the 14 teams finished the opening day under par. OSU leads by two shots over UC Davis.

On the player leaderboard the Wolf Pack has one in contention for the individual crown in junior Grant Booth, who is tied for fourth. Booth opened with a 3-over round of 75 in the morning but came back in the afternoon to fire an ever par 72. He is 3-over for the tournament and is two shots behind leaders Ben Corfee of UC Davis and Alex Lee of Fresno State. Booth is searching for his first collegiate win and what would be the first for the Pack since Kevin Lucas in 2011.

Behind Booth the rest of the Wolf Pack lineup struggled to find low scores on Thursday. Sophomore Travis Fredborg is the closest to Booth at 10-over par and tied for 31st place in the 77-player field. Fredborg started his day strong with three birdies on his first nine holes, but had a bogey filled back nine to record a 76. He struggled during his second round as well, carding a 78.

Senior Nick Fuller, junior Kaleb Gorbahn and freshman Stephen Osborne, who is entered as an individual, all are tied for 36th place at 11-over par. Fuller posted rounds of 76 and 79, Gorbahn shot rounds of 77 and 78 and Osborne carded an 80 in the morning but shaved five strokes off his game in the afternoon for a 75. Junior Corey Eddings is right behind his teammates at 12-over par and in a tie for 44th.
