LAS VEGAS (AP) Caleb Martin came off the bench to score 19 points and he added six rebounds, four assists and a couple of steals as Nevada romped to an 86-64 victory over Southern Illinois on Friday in the opening round of the Las Vegas Classic.
Jordan Caroline added 13 points and seven rebounds, Kendall Stephens had 11 points and reserve Elijah Foster scored 10 for the Wolf Pack (11-2).
Sean Lloyd Jr. topped the Salukis (7-5) with 12 points, Rudy Stradnieks and Kavion Pippen added 11 points apiece and Aaron Cook scored 10.
After Tyler Smithpeters hit three free throws to give the Salukis a 17-16 lead midway through the first half, Caleb Martin buried three 3-pointers in a 13-0 run to put Nevada on top 29-17. Rudy Stradnieks' layup ended the run, but Nevada promptly answered with another 12-0 spurt to push its lead to 41-19 and coasted from there.
Nevada dominated the boards 41-23 and shot 57 percent (32 of 56) from the floor and 58 percent (11 of 19) from beyond the arc. Southern Illinois, which saw a three-game win streak end, connected on just 22 of 57 (39 percent) from the floor and made just 4 of 17 (23.5 percent) from long range.

Nevada improved to 11-2 after its 86-64 win over Southern Illinois (7-5) Friday at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas as part of the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic.
The Wolf Pack is now 3-0 in the Classic and has won its three games by an average of 17.3 points per game.
The Pack's 11 NCAA I non-conference wins is the most prior to starting conference play in school history.
Nevada's RPI sits at 14 after the win over SIU.
Of the Pack's 11 wins, 10 have been by double figures.
The SIU game marked the first time that Nevada has not had a player score 20 or more points in a game this season. Caleb Martin finished with 19 points on Friday.

After scoring in double figures in the first 10 games of the season, Cody Martin has not reached the mark in the last three games.
Cody Martin had games highs in rebounds (9) and assists (7) in the SIU win. The seven assists tied his season-high which he has accomplished three times this season.
Senior Elijah Foster scored in double figures for the first time this season with his 11 points. His last double figure game was 13 points vs. Iona in the Great Alaska Shootout last season.
Kendall Stephens has scored in double figures in the last three games and six of the last seven after his 11 points in the SIU victory. In those six games he has made three or more 3-pointers, five three times, four twice and three in the SIU game.
Junior Jordan Caroline has scored in double figures in 12 of the Pack's 13 games this season.
