RENO, Nev. – The Nevada Wolf Pack volleyball team (10-20, 8-10 MW) fell in three straight sets Saturday to the Boise State Broncos (17-13, 10-8 MW).
The set scores went 25-22, 25-23 and 25-17. Senior
Madison Foley led things for the Pack with 16 kills and a .417 hitting percentage. Sophomore
Dalyn Burns finished the year with a double-double, recording 30 assists and 11 digs. Freshman
Kayla Afoa also got into double figure digs with her 10. Junior
Peighton De Von tied for match high honors, putting down three blocks.
The Pack's three graduates, including Foley, De Von and junior
Gabby Szachara, were honored after the match. Sophomore
Grace Crowley was also honored, ending her career due to lingering medical issues.
Boise State got out to an early lead, going up be as much as 10-4 to start the match. However, the Wolf Pack threatened late, going on a 8-4 run to come within one, 21-20. The hot streak would end there, though, as the Broncos went on to win set one 25-22.
The Broncos jumped out to another early lead, forcing the Wolf Pack to call a timeout trailing 13-9. Nevada then came alive, going on a 6-2 run to take its first lead of the set at 16-15. The lead wouldn't last, though, as the Broncos were able to complete the comeback and take set two 25-23.
Set three went all Boise's way as they took the final frame 25-17 and the match 3-0.
The Pack wraps up its season at 8-10 in conference play and 10-20 overall.
