RENO, Nev. – On a day that saw some of the best swimmers and divers in program history return to the pool, the Nevada swimming and diving team hosted its annual alumni meet on Saturday morning. The meet marks the fourth year in a row the Wolf Pack welcomed back its alumni for a weekend of festivities.
"It's really nice to see how much support we have from our alumni," Nevada head coach
Brendon Bray said. "This was the largest amount of alumni we've had attend our alumni meet and it shows just how involved everyone wants to be with our program."
Throughout the morning, alumni had the opportunity to reconnect with old teammates, as well as meet and swim with some of the current Wolf Pack student-athletes. The meet featured five events including a 50-yard butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle and a mixed relay as well.
Along with the meet, family and friends of the alumni were also given special Battle Born swim caps that the Wolf Pack will wear in its first dual meet of the season against reigning Mountain West champion Boise State. That meet will be on Friday, Oct. 27 and is slated to begin at 1 p.m. PT.
The Nevada swimming and diving alumni weekend will conclude on Saturday night at Whispering Vine Co. on 4
th Street, scheduled from 4-7 p.m. At this event, Bray will give a "State of the Program" address and update those in attendance on fundraising goal for the season.
