Flynn’s career-high 11 saves not enough as Nevada falls at Fresno State 3-1

Robinson scores her second goal of season

FRESNO, Calif. The Nevada Wolf Pack (1-15-0, 0-8-0 MW) battled the Fresno State Bulldogs (8-5-3, 3-3-2 MW) for all 90 minutes on Sunday, but ultimately lost the match 3-1. Freshman goalkeeper Jamie Flynn recorded a career-high 11 saves on the day.

Julia Glaser of the Bulldogs scored her first goal of the season in the 7th minute to give the Bulldogs an early lead, but junior Mackenzie Robinson scored her second goal of the season to tie the match 18 minutes in. The defender was able to lob the ball over the head of goalkeeper Nicole Theroux, and the 1-1 score would remain going into halftime.

In the second half, the Bulldogs would score two more times with goals coming in the 55th and 72nd minutes to win the match 3-1. In just her second collegiate start, Flynn made 11 saves and faced 26 shots. One of her best saves of the day came on a one-on-one match up with a member of the Bulldogs, where she dove to her right and robbed what would have been a goal when the match was still tied.

Nevada recorded three shots in the match, two of which went on goal.

The Wolf Pack will travel to face Boise State next Friday, and then return to Reno on Oct. 22 for its final home match of the season against Utah State. Get your tickets by calling (775) 348-PACK or visiting NevadaWolfPack.com.
