RENO, Nev. - The University of Nevada men's tennis team won its spring season opener on the road at UC Riverside (1-2) 5-2. The Wolf Pack beat the Highlanders in its spring season opener as well, winning that match 6-1 a year ago.

"It was nice to get our first match under our belt," head coach Sylvain Malroux said. "Despite the short training that we had, we saw a lot of good tennis today. We look forward to improve from there."

Nevada nearly swept its singles matches, with five of the six members of the Wolf Pack securing victories. The most dominant performance came from Mile Cilic, as the senior closed out his match quickly beating his opponent 6-2, 6-2. Robert Margitfalvi also had an excellent day, winning his singles match 6-1, 6-4. The Pack will bring in a lot of momentum into their match up on Sunday at Pacific.

The only doubles victory for the Wolf Pack came from the racquets of Julien Evrard and Augustin Delahodde. The combination of the two lower classmen were able to knock off their opposition 6-4. Both members of the Wolf Pack also won its singles matches earlier in the day.

Nevada looks to continue its perfect start to its season when they take on University of the Pacific this Sunday at 1 p.m. Follow men's tennis on twitter @WolfPackMTennis for updates on the team throughout the season.
