Washoe County Proclamation Get Acrobat Reader

RENO, Nev. - The Washoe County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday proclaimed their congratulations to the Nevada athletics department on the 50th anniversary of Mackay Stadium, which will officially be celebrated on Saturday when the Wolf Pack plays Buffalo.

Noting the recent renovations and videoboard additions to the stadium and celebrating the history and memories of the facility, the county commissioners issued the proclamation at its meeting on Tuesday, with athletics director Doug Knuth in attendance.

Wolf Pack cheerleaders and the mascot, Wolfie, were also at the meeting, where the proclamation was issued.

On Saturday, Nevada will celebrate the 50th anniversary with a halftime fireworks show and other festivities. The 1986 and 1996 championship teams will be honored and the Nevada Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2016 will be introduced at halftime.
