Sept. 1, 2016 RENO, Nev. - The Nevada athletics department has partnered with Basin Street Properties on the 8,000-square foot Basin Street Club at Mackay Stadium, which will officially debut on Friday at the Wolf Pack football team's season opener.

The Basin Street Club is the cornerstone of the $11.5-million renovation at Mackay Stadium, a project that began in 2015 with a new restroom facility and concluded this summer with the completion of the bulk of the modernized overhaul of the 50-year-old facility. More than 4,000 chair-back seats were added, along with club seating and outdoor loge boxes. Aisles were widened and handrails were installed and east-side suites saw patio installation. A separate project saw the installation of a new state-of-the-art video board with a cutting-edge sound system

"We are thrilled to have Basin Street Properties as our partner on the stadium club project," said athletics director Doug Knuth. "This year-round facility will enhance the gameday experience for many of our fans, but it will also serve as a needed facility for our teams throughout the year and we will have it available for campus and community use as well."

The Basin Street Club opens on gamedays two hours prior to kickoff and will be open an hour after each home football game. With a kitchen and full-service bar, the club will serve as a key gathering place for fans with loge and club seats and luxury suites at Mackay Stadium.

""We believe a thriving university is a key factor for a successful and vibrant Reno," said Matt White, CEO of Basin Street. "And a competitive, top tier sports program helps drive success across all aspects of the school. We are honored to be involved."

Basin Street Properties owns and manages over 700,000 square feet of class A office space, hospitality, multi-family and retail in Reno and is leading the redevelopment of the Kings Inn into 3rd Street Flats. The group recently completed the 135 room non-smoking, non-gaming Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Reno.

Nevada opens the 2016 season at a newly renovated Mackay Stadium on Sept. 2 against Cal Poly as the Wolf Pack also celebrates the 50th anniversary of the facility this year.
