NFCA All-Region Team - Full List
RENO, Nev. -- After each were named All-Mountain West yesterday, senior Megan Sweet, freshman Brooke Bolinger, and sophomores Jennifer Purcell and Aaliyah Gibson have been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association's (NFCA) All-Region team, the organization announced on Thursday.
Purcell joins Noelle Micka as the only first team All-Region selections in program history. Gibson is one of three outfielders on the West Region's second team and Sweet and Bolinger were named to the third team.
The announcement marked Nevada's first All-Region selections since Karley Hopkins was named to the second team in the Pacific Region as a freshman in 2011. The Wolf Pack's four picks were the most since 2009 when it also saw four players named NFCA All-Region. Nevada turned in the second-most selections in the Mountain West this season behind league champion-Fresno State's five honorees.
The all-region teams were chosen by NFCA member coaches from each region and all the honorees are now eligible for selection to the NFCA All-America first, second or third teams.
