RENO, Nev. - Nevada basketball coach Jane Albright has announced the signing of transfer Terae Briggs out of United Tribes Technical College. She will be eligible to play for the Wolf Pack as a sophomore in the 2016-17 season.

"Terae is a very talented student-athlete who excels in the classroom and on the basketball court," said Albright. "She will be a post presence for us offensively and defensively. We are very excited to add her to our team for next season and anticipate her growing into a dominant post player. Assistant coach Kami Malnaa was the lead coach for Terae and she did an excellent job finding her in Montana and opening the door for us."

Briggs stands 6-foot-3 out of Pryor, Mont. and just completed a successful freshman year at United Tribes Technical College. During her rookie season she was named the Region XIII most valuable player, averaging 22.4 points and 12.1 rebounds per game. She aided in her Thunderbirds team capturing their first ever Region XIII Championship.

Thanks to her play in the NJCAA Region XIII Tournament, she received MVP honors and led her team to the national tournament. In addition to tournament honors she was also named second team all-American for NJCAA Division II and first team all-conference.

During her high school playing days at Plenty Coups High School in Montana she earned first team all-state and first team all-district 6C her senior year. Briggs is also successful in the classroom as she graduated as her high school class valedictorian.
