LOGAN, Utah - The University of Nevada (4-13, 0-3 MW) men's tennis team lost for the fifth consecutive time falling 4-0 at #56 Utah State (19-6, 4-0 MW) in a Mountain West match at the USU Outdoor Courts on Friday afternoon. The Wolf Pack is 4-13 and 0-3 in conference play while the Aggies improved to 19-6 and 4-0 in conference action.
Nevada concludes its two-match road trip at Boise State (13-8, 2-1 MW) on Sunday at 1 p.m. PT.
USU won the #1 and #2 doubles matches to earn first point of the day. Romai Ugarte and Luis Lopez down the Pack's Robert Allan and Andrew Poustie 6-1 in the #1 doubles match. Jack Swindells and Jonas Maier clinched the point with a 6-2 victory over Mile Cilic and Robert Margitfalvi in the #2 doubles match.
The Aggies won the #3, #4 and #5 singles matches in straight sets to clinch the victory. Maier downed Cilic 6-1, 6-4 on court 3. Lopez scored a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Cilic. Samuel Serrano's 6-4, 6-4 victory over Margitfalvi in the #3 singles match resulted in the match being clinched.
