Results

RENO, Nev. - The University of Nevada (4-12, 0-2 MW) men's tennis team fell 4-0 to intrastate rival UNLV (9-6, 3-0 MW) at Caughlin Club on Sunday afternoon. The Mountain West match was is part of the Governor's Series.

Nevada takes to the road next week for a pair of MW matches at Utah State on Friday and Boise State on Sunday. Both matches start at 1 p.m. PT.

The Rebels won the #1 and #3 doubles matches to earn the first team point. Jakob Amilon and Ruben Alberts defeated the Pack's Andrew Poustie and Robert Allan 6-4 on court one. In #3 doubles Alexandr Cozbinov and Richard Solberg knocked off Ryan Andrada and Billy Bumgardner 7-5.

In singles the Rebels won the first three complete matches on courts, one, two and five. Amilon defeated Andrada in the #1 singles match 6-4, 6-1 and the Pack trailed 2-0. Cozbinov pushed it to 3-0 with a 6-2, 6-4 over the Pack's Mile Cilic in the #2 singles match. Evaldo Neto clinched the 4-0 victory with a 6-2, 7-6 (7-1) win on court five.

Poustie and Allan were up a set and tied in the second set on courts three and four respectively when the match ended. Nevada's Robert Margitfalvi had split sets on court six and was tied 1-1 in the third set.
