2016 Hampshire Honor Society
RENO, Nev. - Senior Jordan Dobrich has been named to the National Football Foundation's 2016 Hampshire Honor Society, the NFF announced on Wednesday. Dobrich is one of 22 student-athletes from the Mountain West to earn the distinction.
Candidates for the Hampshire Honor Society must achieve a 3.2 cumulative grade point average while also starting or significantly contributing on the playing field. Dobrich far exceed those standards, posting a 3.850 GPA in his mechanical engineering major while playing in 49 games with 274 career tackles at Nevada.
Dobrich is one of Nevada's most renowned student-athletes. Due to his work in the classroom, Dobrich was inducted into the 2015 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Class, was a two-time Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-District selection and was a four-time Academic All-Mountain West selection.
Dobrich was equally impressive on the field as a four-year letter winner and three-time team captain. He played in 49 career games, ranking 11th in program history with 274 tackles. Last season, Dobrich led Nevada to a winning record and a victory in the NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl.
Head coach Brian Polian and the Wolf Pack boast three Hampshire Honor Society members in the past three season with Dobrich, Nigel Haikins in 2015 and Joel Bitonio in 2014.
