LAS VEGAS - In the final regular season match that was rescheduled from earlier this season because of weather at Air Force, the University of Nevada (6-15, 2-5 MW) men's tennis team lost to the Falcons (7-17, 2-5 MW) 4-2 at the Fertitta Tennis Complex on the campus of UNLV. The Mountain West loss drops the Wolf Pack to 6-15 on the season 2-5 in conference play. The AFA improved to 7-17 and 2-5 MW action.
Nevada competes in the MW Championships starting on Friday. The bracket has yet to be released after two conference matches that were postponed from earlier this season were played today in Las Vegas.
The Pack earned the doubles points with victories on courts 1 and 2. Robert Margitfalvi and Mile Cilic scored a 6-4 win in the No. 1 doubles match. Ryan Andrada and Aaron Breust won 6-2 on court 2 to clinch the point.
The Falcons won four of the five completed singles matches. Isaac Perez defeated the Pack's Breust 6-4, 6-4 in the No. 4 singles match to tie the score at 1-1. Margitfalvi won 6-2, 6-2 over Max Olson to put Nevada back on top 2-1.
AF won the next two completed matches on courts 1 and 5 to move in front 3-2. Tadhg Collins clinched the win for AF with a three-set victory over Nevada's Sandro Lena 2-6, 6-2 and 6-1 to make the final score 4-2.
