RENO, Nev. - Nevada finally put its 12-5 victory over Air Force in the books, completing the ninth-inning of the suspended game to officially notch the win Saturday at Peccole Park. The game was originally played on March 6 at Air Force before being suspended after eight innings due to Nevada's travel schedule.
Nevada carried a 12-5 lead into today's ninth inning after scoring 12 runs on 13 hits with home runs from senior Bryce Greager, senior Justin Hazard and sophomore Jordan Pearce. Junior Miles Mastrobuoni hit a double in the ninth inning while senior RHP Sam Held pitched a 1-2-3 inning in the bottom ninth to close out the victory.
Sophomore TJ Friedl went 4-of-5 at the plate with three runs to lead Nevada. Pearce went 2-of-4 with three RBI and one run, Greager added two RBI and two runs, and Hazard went 2-of-4 with two RBI and two runs. Junior LHP Trenton Brooks took the win after allowing four earned runs in 5.0 innings pitched.
Nevada and Air Force will now play a doubleheader at Peccole Park, completing Friday's rain-postponed game and Saturday's game two.
