RENO, Nev. - The Nevada baseball team split a doubleheader with Air Force on Saturday at Peccole Park, winning game one 6-5 before falling 12-7 in the nightcap. The Wolf Pack (17-20, 8-8) and Falcons (20-15, 9-9) will now play a rubber game Sunday at 1 p.m. PT to decide the series.

Senior Bryce Greager hit a walk-off sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 10th inning as Nevada won the first game 6-5 in extras. The Wolf Pack couldn't carry momentum forward to the nightcap, allowing a season-high five home runs in a 12-7 loss.

Sophomore Jordan Pearce went 2-of-4 with two RBI and one run to lead Nevada in the nightcap. The Falcons' bats caught fire in the game, scoring 12 runs on 16 hits with five homers. Junior RHP Trevor Charpie took the loss in 4.2 innings, while junior LHP Anthony Martine and senior LHP Cameron Rowland pitched in relief.

Nevada took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the first inning, scoring three runs with three walks and no hits. Sophomore TJ Friedl drew a bases-loaded hit by pitch and sophomore Cole Krzmarzick and junior Miles Mastrobuoni each scored on a throwing error following a wild pitch.

Air Force tied the game at 3-3 with one run in the top third before Nevada turned a 6-4-3 double play to end the threat. Each team scored one run in the fourth inning as freshman Nic Ready hit a solo homer for the Falcons while Pearce doubled and scored on a wild pitch for Nevada.

The Falcons then broke the stalemate with three runs on four hits to take a 7-4 lead in the fifth. Nevada pulled within one run in the bottom sixth as Pearce roped a two-RBI double off the right field wall. Air Force reclaimed momentum, hitting a home run in the seventh, eighth and ninth innings to pull away.

The series finale between Nevada and Air Force is set for 1 p.m. PT first pitch Sunday at Peccole Park as the Wolf Pack looks to claim the series.
