FRESNO, Calif. - The Nevada baseball team's streak of four straight series wins has been snapped at Fresno State as the Bulldogs (23-13, 11-6) won for the second straight day at Pete Beiden Field. Nevada (15-17, 6-6) fell, 8-3, in game two on Saturday night.
The Wolf Pack will look to salvage a win in the series finale on Sunday as first pitch is set for 1:05 p.m. PT in Fresno, Calif. Nevada will also be looking to snap a four-game losing streak.
Nevada fell into an early deficit today after Fresno State scored three runs in the first inning and four in the third frame to open a 7-0 lead. Nevada was victorious in junior RHP Trevor Charpie's past three starts, but the 6-foot-1 righty was tagged for a season-high seven runs in five innings pitched while suffering the loss.
Nevada scored two runs in the fourth as seniors Bryce Greager and Justin Hazard each hit RBI singles The Wolf Pack also leaded the bases in the eighth and scored one run on a wild pitch, but Nevada's rally fell short.
The Pack belted 11 hits but only scored three runs with no extra base hits in the contest. Nevada was led by five multi-hit efforts today as junior Justin Bridgman, sophomore Cole Krzmarzick, sophomore TJ Friedl, Greager and Hazard each had two hits. Krzmarzick improved his team-high season batting average to .436
