RENO, Nev. – For the second year in a row, the University of Nevada volleyball team has been honored with the Public Recognition Awards as part of the NCAA Division I Academic Performance Program.
This is the ninth time in the past six years that a Nevada sport has been honored with a Public Recognition Award as part of the NCAA APR program, which is an annual scorecard of academic achievement calculated for all Division I sports teams nationally
The Wolf Pack volleyball team scored a perfect 1,000 on the academic progress rate (APR) during the 2014-15 academic year and has a 1,000 as its multiyear rate overall. The Public Recognition Award comes for being part of the top 10 percent of all teams in its sport.
The APR measures eligibility, graduation and retention each term and provides a clear picture of the academic performance for each team in every sport. The most recent APRs are multiyear rates based on scores from the 2011-2012, 2012-13, 2013-14 and 2014-15 academic years.
All Division I teams’ APR scores will be released April 20. All teams must meet a certain academic threshold to qualify for the postseason and can face penalties for continued low academic performance.
