RENO, Nev. - The Nevada women's golf team hits the road again for a 54-hole event hosted by Long Beach State in Southern California.
The 2016 Gold Rush will be played Monday and Tuesday at Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach, Calif. First and second round action will take place on Monday, followed by final round play concluding on Tuesday. Both days will begin with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
Nevada will send Celyn Khoo, Caryn Khoo, Bertille DuPont, Hannah Gregg and Chaithra Katamneni to compete.
"I am really excited to see these ladies compete again," said coach Kathleen Takaishi. "We have been working hard the past few weeks. Last weekend we played a type of golf course that had narrow fairways and thick rough. They realized they needed to hit different types of shots so it was a good learning experience for them.
"This should help us be prepared for the next few weeks. We need to take what we have been working on at home and use it in competition, play smart and have fun."
The 2016 Gold Rush will present a 15-team field that features Boise State (Mountain West), Boston College (ACC), BYU (West Coast), Cal Poly (Big West), Cal State Fullerton (Big West), Colorado State (Mountain West), Fresno State (Mountain West), Gonzaga (West Coast), Idaho (Big Sky), Long Beach State (Big West), Nevada (Mountain West), Ole Miss (SEC), Sacramento State (Big Sky), UC Irvine (Big West) and USC (Pac-12).
