TUCSON, Ariz. - The University of Nevada (2-4) men's tennis team was shutout 7-0 at Arizona (6-4) on Friday morning. The Wolf Pack is 0-2 on its three-match trip to Arizona and play Denver on Saturday in a neutral site match. With the loss the Pack is 2-4 while the Wildcats improved to 6-4.
Arizona won the #2 and #3 doubles matches to secure the first point of the match. Jason Jaruvang and Will Adkisson won 6-2 over the Pack's Mile Cilic and Peter O'Donovan at #2 doubles. Shoki Kasahara and Matt Dunn defeated Ryan Andrada and Robert Margitfalvi 7-5 to clinch the point.
The Wildcats won all six singles matches to earn the shutout. Arizona won five of the six matches in straight sets. In the #2 singles match Cilic fell in three sets to Harry Busby 6-2, 3-6 and 7-6 in the deciding third set.
At #1 singles Andrada lost 6-3, 6-4 to Jaruvang. O'Donovan dropped a 6-1, 6-2 decision to Will Kneale in the #3 singles match. Robert Allan suffered a 6-4, 6-1 setback to Trent Botha in the #4 singles pairing.
Arizona's Oliver Plaskett knocked off Margitfalvi 6-4, 7-6 in the #5 singles match. The Pack's Aaron Breust lost his #6 singles match 6-3, 6-3 to Kasahara.
