RENO, Nev. - The University of Nevada baseball team begins a new era this week, as first-year head coach T.J. Bruce and the Wolf Pack opens the 2016 campaign with a four-game series against Northwestern before playing at Arizona State.

The Wolf Pack and Wildcats play Feb. 19-21 at Sloan Park in Mesa, Ariz. The series will begin with a double-header on opening day Friday with first pitch times set for 1 and 5 p.m. PT. Saturday's game will start at 5 p.m., while the series finale on Sunday begins at 10 a.m.

The neutral series is being held at Sloan Park - the spring training facility of the Chicago Cubs. With a capacity of 15,000, Sloan Park is the largest spring training stadium in Major League Baseball. The ballpark opened on Feb. 12, 2014.

Nevada then travels to Tempe, Ariz., to meet Arizona State on Tuesday, Feb. 23. First pitch is set for 5:30 p.m. PT at Phoenix Municipal Stadium.

The Wolf Pack has only meet Northwestern once in program history, boasting an 11-2 victory on Feb. 19, 1999. Nevada is also 2-0-0 all-time against Arizona State with the last meeting coming on Feb. 12, 2006 with a 12-8 Nevada win.

The Nevada-Northwestern series will not be streamed, while Arizona State will stream their game live on thesundevils.com. All five games will be available on the Wolf Pack Radio Network with Don Marchand on the call. Tune into 1060 AM or online at portal.stretchinternet.com/nevada/.

• Nevada was recently selected sixth in the Preseason Mountain West Coaches Poll, while Trenton Brooks, Bryce Greager and Christian Stolo were named to the Preseason All-MW Team.
• The Wolf Pack is coming off of one of its most successful seasons in program history, as Nevada posted a 41-15 overall record and won the first Mountain West title in program history with a 22-7 league record. Nevada's 41 wins were its most since 1995 and tied for the second-most in program history.
• Returning from last year's team is the MW Tony Gwynn Player of the Year (Trenton Brooks), the MW Pitcher of the Year (Christian Stolo), first team All-MW selection Bryce Greager and 14 letter winners overall.
• LHP Christian Stolo, LHP Trenton Brooks, RHP Mark Nowaczewski and RHP Zach Wilkins are slated to start on the mound for Nevada against Northwestern.
