Nevada Game Notes
RENO, Nev. - Tuesday night's Nevada women's basketball contest against undefeated Utah will also serve as the team's 'We Back Pat' night.
'We Back Pat' is an ongoing cause launched in support of former longtime Tennessee coach Pat Summitt and raising awareness for Alzheimer's disease. Nevada head coach Jane Albright began her coaching career on Summitt's staff at Tennessee in the early 80's.
Mini paper basketballs will be available for a $5 donation to the foundation. Fans can write their names on the basketballs to show support for Pat Summitt and her foundation. The goal is to raise $1,098 to match the number of wins Summitt accumulated in her career.
The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a free purple t-shirt, courtesy of Hometown Health. Players will be warming up in purple shirts and the coaching staff will also be dressed in purple.
The Pat Summitt Foundation, A Fund of East Tennessee Foundation, is dedicated to winning the fight against Alzheimer's disease. Its mission as a grant-making foundation is to advance research for prevention and a cure; to provide hope, care, and critical support for patients, caregivers and families; and to educate the public on the impacts of Alzheimer's disease and the urgent need for a cure.
