RENO, Nev. - Nevada women's basketball has announced a special pre-game event prior to its season opener versus Long Beach State on Friday night. Multitalented artist Bunky Echo-Hawk will perform a live art presentation in the Silver and Blue Room at Lawlor Events Center to help promote Nike's N7 Fund.

The N7 Fund is a pledge from Nike to bring sport and the advantages that come with it to the Native American and Aboriginal communities in the United State and Canada. The goal is to release the power of ones generation through activity and competition.

Echo-Hawk is a graduate of the Institute of American Indian Arts and has done work in both the media and lifestyle landscape. An enrolled member of the Yakama Nation and dancer of the Pawnee Nation, Echo-Hawk also displays his artistic skills as a graphic designer, photographer, writer and professional in the non-profit sector.

Fans are welcomed to experience the event as admission is free. For fans with a Tribal I.D. and event flyer, admission to the basketball game is free for up to four people. There will also be a halftime shooting contest featuring kids from different tribes across the area.

Doors for the live art presentation will open at 4:30 p.m. PT and will be followed by the Nevada basketball game against Long Beach State, in which the Wolf Pack will special turquoise uniforms.
