RENO, Nev. - Nevada women's basketball coach Jane Albright announced the signing of Janelle Sumilong to a National Letter of Intent during Wednesday's early signing period.
Sumilong is a 5-7 guard who hails from Hanford, Calif. Sumilong and her Hanford High School teammates are two-time defending West Yosemite League Champions. She enters her senior year having scored 1,611 points in her high school career.
"We are excited to add Janelle to our team! She is an outstanding student, person and basketball player," said Albright. Her ability to score, combined with her natural athletic ability makes her a complete competitor. She is also a terrific student, as evident by being recruited by Ivy League universities. We expect her to immediately add to our basketball program in many ways."
