Nevada 91, Stanislaus State 77 
RENO, Nev. - In a game that saw the Wolf Pack shoot 50.8 percent from the field, the Nevada women's basketball team defeated the Stanislaus State Warriors, 91-77, in the Pack's lone exhibition game of the 2016-17 campaign. The 672 fans in attendance saw a high-energy matchup, courtesy of a strong effort on both ends of the court from the home team.
The Pack's defensive presence was felt early one, as the team forced seven turnovers in the opening quarter, which resulted in the Warriors shooting 21 percent from the field. At the first media timeout, junior guard T Moe had shot 2-3 from the field and contributed one assist. The appearance marked Moe's first game in a Wolf Pack uniform since the Nov. 25, 2014 battle against San Francisco.
A native of Daly City, Calif., Moe completed the game with 16 points on 10-12 shooting from the free throw line, to along with her game-high six assists.
Trailing 19-15 entering the second quarter, Stanislaus State used a 6-2 run to open up the period. That run would eventually lead the Warriors to tie the game at 27 a piece with 5:40 remaining in the half. However, the Pack defense buckled down and used a 14-6 run of their own and never looked back from that point forward.
At the halftime break, Nevada went into the locker room up 41-33, with the defense forcing 14 Warrior turnovers. Sophomore forward AJ Cephas led the way, scoring 10 points on 4-5 shooting in the opening half. She finished the game shooting 7-8 from the field with 16 points and showed off her defensive abilities, recording six steals.
In the third quarter, the Pack's offensive came out firing on all cylinders, scoring 32 points off of 12 made shots to extend the lead to 24 points and expand the score to 73-49 heading into the final period. The fourth period saw Nevada's defense come alive again, as the team pulled down 11 of the team's 38 total rebounds. Junior forward Teige Zeller came down with two rebounds in the quarter and finished the matchup with a game-high 11 rebounds to go with her eight points, shooting a perfect 4-4 from the field.
