RENO, Nev. - Scoring 55 points in the second half, the Nevada Wolf Pack took down the San Francisco State Gators 88-58 in the team's one and only exhibition game to start the season.

The front man for the Wolf Pack was sophomore phenom Cameron Oliver, who put up 21 points and was just three rebounds short of a double-double before coming out of the game with 13:29 to play. Three other players in senior D.J. Fenner (10), junior Elijah Foster (12) and freshman Devearl Ramsey (12) joined Oliver with double-digit points. Ramsey scored 10 second half points with quick drives and cuts. Sophomore Jordan Caroline led the team defensively with nine rebounds

Sophomore Jordan Caroline started the game off with the unofficial first points of the season via a layup in the first minute of the game. As the first media timeout, the Pack held onto a 4-0 lead, expanding it to 6-0 quickly after the break. Driving down the lane, freshman Devearl Ramsey drew the fouled and headed to the line for two. Draining both, the Wolf Pack lead expanded to 11-3 with 12:26 to play in the half. Going five-of-seven the Pack built its lead but was forced to call a timeout to try and put an end to the Gator run with the Nevada lead cut to 18-13.

Things really began to tighten up as the Nevada lead was cut just to two thanks to a 12-2 run from the Gators that lasted almost five minutes. Junior Leland King II drew back-to-back-to-back fouls and made five-of-six, bringing the Pack lead to 25-19 with 5:06 left in the first half.

The Gators found another run late in the first half, scoring six straight points to come within five of the Pack, 32-27. SFSU continued to gnaw away at the Pack lead, but Nevada held onto the lead as time expired in the first half, up 33-32.

The Wolf Pack answered back to the Gators run with five points right out of the gate to start the second half. The Pack grew its lead to 38-32 before the SFSU would score again. The Gator offense was short lived, however, as Nevada went on a 9-0 run for a 12 point lead, 52-40. The rest of the game would remain Nevada's as the Pack didn't give up the lead once, beating the Gators 88-58.

Nevada will start regular season play when it travels to Moraga, Calif. to take on No. 19 Saint Mary's on Friday, Nov. 11 with a late 8 p.m. tipoff.
