PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. - The Nevada men's golf team wrapped up the fall season on Wednesday with a tie for seventh at the Saint Mary's Invitational at Poppy Hills Golf Club.
The Wolf Pack combined for a team score of 299 during the final round, tying with Oregon State at 40-over par for the tournament. Nevada's best round of the week came in yesterday's second round. San Diego State posted the low round of the day at 10-under par to run away with the team title. The Aztecs were 1-over for the tournament and finished 12 strokes ahead of second place Saint Mary's.
On the final day the Pack was led by junior Corey Eddings who posted a team-low round of 73. Eddings had a pretty consistent day making 13 pars and two birdies. He finished in a tie for 24th along with teammate Kaleb Gorbahn. Gorbahn carded a 3-over 74 for his final round and ranked in the top 20 in pars for the week.
Junior Grant Booth, who jumped up near the top of the leaderboard yesterday, fired a 74 on Wednesday. Booth grabbed sole possession of 12th place at 6-over for the tournament. He converted the third-most amount of birdies this week. This marks his second top 15 finish of the year. Senior Nick Fuller struggled through his final round with a 79 and tied for 52nd in the 84-player field. Sophomore Travis Fredborg played better today, shooting a round of 78 and tied for 67th place.
