Stephens, a 6-7, 205-pound guard from St. Charles, Ill. played the last three seasons at Purdue.  As a freshman he was named to the Big 10 Freshman team after averaging eight points and shooting 37 (64-of-173) percent from the behind the arc.  The 64 made three-pointers ranks as the second best season by a Purdue freshman.  He earned 16 starts and played in 32 games his freshman season for the Boilermakers.  Against Michigan State he scored a season-high 19 points.

His sophomore year he averaged 8.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists in 22.4 minutes per game.  Stephens appeared in 34 games and started 16 in his second season in the program.  He increased his three-point shooting percentage to 38.4, making 73-of-190 attempts from behind the arc.  The 73 made three-pointers is the 10th most in a season at Purdue.  He had a streak of making a three-pointer in 22 consecutive games that ranks as the fifth longest streak in school history.  He netted a career-high 24 points against IUPUI.

Stephens averaged 6.1 points and 1.3 rebounds per game in 24 games off the bench as a junior.  From behind the arc he made 38-of-120 attempts.  He missed several games for personal reasons following the death of a close friend and former teammate.

In his three seasons at Purdue he scored 698 points in 90 games with 32 starts for an average of 7.8 points per game.  From behind the arc he made 175-of-483 shots for shooting percentage of 36.2.
