RENO, Nev. - Three Nevada soccer players have been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Women's University Division Scholar All-West Region team. The team as a whole collected a team academic award from the NSCAA as well.

Juniors Katherine Davison, Kelsey Quintos and Alyissa deRonde all received an honorable mention in the west region. Quintos, the team's starting goalkeeper, ranks the highest academically with a 3.86 grade point average as a community health science and human development family studies major. Davison, a defender, is a community health science major and owns a 3.72 GPA. deRonde, also a community health science major with a minor in gerontology, compiled a 3.40 GPA to earn the distinction.

The team award is bestowed to collegiate soccer teams who posted a team grade point average (GPA) or 3.0 or higher during the 2014-15 academic year. Head coach Dr. Melissa Price's Wolf Pack team accumulated a 3.13 team GPA. This year, a total of 905 soccer teams (319 men, 587 women) earned the distinction. It marks the fifth time that Nevada has earned the honor since the 2008 season (2008, 2009, 2011, 2014, 2015).

Price is heavily involved in the NSCAA, currently serving as the Chair of the Women's Membership Group. This membership group, which has been in existence since 1991, was designed with the purpose to elevate, highlight and develop women and the women's game through support, collaboration and activism across all levels. She is also a member of the NSCAA Academy Staff, a group of instructors aimed at leading the NSCAA's coaching education courses.
