RENO, Nev. - A late game-tying goal in regulation from Air Force forced the Falcons and the Nevada soccer team to a 2-2 double overtime draw Sunday afternoon at Mackay Stadium.

After a scoreless opening half, a flurry of goals were notched in the second half of play between the Falcons (3-6-1, 1-0-1 MW) and Wolf Pack (3-5-2, 0-1-1 MW). It was Nevada who broke through first, getting a goal shortly after halftime in the 50th minute. Freshman Hannah Miller headed in her second goal of the season off of a corner kick taken by senior Lindsey Salcido, putting the Pack ahead 1-0.

Nearly 20 minutes after that opening score, Air Force evened things up thanks to a successful penalty kick that was taken by Bre Robertson. Nevada goalkeeper Kelsey Quintos guessed right on the direction of the kick, but Robertson placed her shot just passed the outstretched arm of Quintos.

The Wolf Pack regained the lead once more with just under 12 minutes remaining in regulation thanks to a scrum in front of the net. Senior Daisha Jones-Oglesby got a piece of redshirt freshman Nikki Mitsuyasu's free kick from just outside the 10 yard line, but her shot was thwarted away by AFA's goalkeeper Alex Kahalley. Off of that initial save however, Salcido swooped in and knocked in the rebound to put Nevada ahead 2-1.

As the clock ticked to under five to play, the Falcons got even once again. Similar to the first Pack goal of the game, Air Force's Angela Karamanos headed in a shot off of a corner kick, tying the game at 2-2 and eventually sending the game into overtime.

Two minutes into the first overtime, the Pack found itself with a golden opportunity to strike for the game-winner. Freshman Hannah Wuensche fired a shot on target from about three yards out, but her shot was grabbed by Karamanos. Neither team registered a shot attempt in the second overtime, sealing the draw.

All-in-all there were 30 shots taken in the match, 15 apiece, 22 fouls and four yellow cards were issued. The Pack forced Kahalley to make eight saves in the contest, while Quintos registered a season-high seven saves.

Salcido now has eight points (3g, 2a) on the year to lead the team.

Nevada hits the road for a pair of league games this upcoming weekend when it travels to New Mexico on Friday and San Diego State on Sunday.
